The Lullaby Project
I commissioned a set of lullabies to explore the process of finding comfort and calm, which can be a chaotic journey; I wanted to uncover a contemporary perspective of the lullaby in today’s complicated world. Vulnerability can be painful; intimacy can be just as heavy as it can be fragile; quiet can come after a storm. Through a loose definition of a lullaby, these works present a wide range of emotions. I will record the pieces for release on an album in late 2026. The commissions were funded through a grant from Middle Tennessee State University.
Griffin Candey - Sink Me With Stones
Dimitri Cervo - Lullaby for a Wounded World
Kevin Joest - Lullaby
Amy Beth Kirsten - lullaby for a poet
Mary Kouyoumdjian - Sway
